1st dues notice:2009 (with early payment discount)

Dear Odonatist:

My name is Bill Mauffray. I am the Managing Director of the International
Odonata Research Institute (for those of you who do not know me). I collect
"Foundation S.I.O. membership/ subscription" fees and send them to Marianne
Kiauta at the "Odonatoligica Editorial Office", in Bilthoven, The
Netherlands.  The rate this year for ODONATOLOGICA and NOTULAE ODONATOLOGICA
is up a few dollars. The final figure includes the bank transfer charge and
local shipping and handling. The dollar is not doing very well against the
Euro, so the 2008 fees will have to be raised. The regular dues would be
$132.00, but I have negotiated it down to the same thing it was last year=
$120.00. The early bird special is $110.00, a $10 savings

check for $110.00 with a postmark before 1-Jan-2009 and save $10.00. The
regular dues are $120.00 if your letter is postmarked between 1-Jan-2009 and

Please send your check as soon as possible payable to S.I.O. or IORI so that
I don't have to send a letter. Remember if you have a change of address let
me know. Send to BILL MAUFFRAY, IORI, 4525 NW 53rd LN, Gainesville Fl 32653.

Fees are due 1-January 2009, they are delinquent 1-Feb-2009. Due to the cost
of bookkeeping, second notices, and just the hassle of keeping up with who
did not pay, there will be a $10.00 late fee if not post-marked by
31-Jan-2009, and a $25.00 late fee if not post-marked by 1-Mar-2009. (This
year I have to file my annual report by March 1 2009)

The provision still holds that if you find it impossible to pay now due to
extenuating circumstances (lost job, unusual family conditions, etc.,). Just
let me know by (letter or e-mail) and I will carry you as a member in good
standing until you can pay for 2007. You must have a valid excuse for me to
waive the late fee.  The March ODONATOLOGICA will not be sent to anyone who
does not respond to this letter.

Please let me know of anyone who wishes to join S.I.O. and I will mail him
or her information. Let us know if we can help you from the IORI here.
