              Dear people!

I am trying to describe the fauna of my study area from zoogeographical point of view. According to the Russian Odonatological literature (Belyshev, Kharitonov, 1981) SW Ukraine and other territories of the Eastern Europe are situated in a transboundary region. From the west side there is European subarea, from the north side – European-Siberian subarea, to the East side - Kazakh - Molgolian subarea of Holarctic area of Boreal faunistic kingdom. To the south from the study area there is Mediterranean subarea of Subholarctic faunistic kingdom.

The fauna of this part of Europe is diverse. There are no autochthon species, only the mixture of different faunistic complexes. I’d like to compare the fauna of my area and to estimate which faunistic complexes are dominated here. The problem is that many species have a very wide range and it is hard to say  something about their origin.

Here is a checklist of species from my area. http://dragonflyforall.narod.ru/projects/checklist_swukraine_engl.html Does someone has an idea on how to describe Odonata fauna of this area? This links on publications and any suggestions are welcome. For my work this a very important problem now and I expect on your help and ideas.

              Sincerely,

              Thanks in advance,
