[Odonata-l] Water Framework Directive

Happy Holidays everyone!

I am looking for information on the incorporation of the European Union Water Frameworks 
Directive in the United States.  The EU WFD places a very strong emphasis on using 
dragonflies as bioindicators of riverine health.  Does anyone know of a project 
(state-based, community based, conservation organization?) that has implemented, or is 
considering implementation of some of the WFD principles?
