Hello All;
This summer I have twice encountered towing pairs of L. disjunctus
ovipositing at about 4" (10cm) below the water surface. Not something
I have seen before. In neither case did it appear that they had been
dragged down by current (happens with Calopteryx frequently), both
habitats were still or at the very least slow waters. Both sets were
sampled. Anyone else seen this?
Another observation, confirmed this year, is that towing pairs of L.
eurinus will oviposit on the top of the floating leaves of Cow Lily
(Spatterdock, Nuphar vulgaris) or Water Lily (Nymphaea odorata). Anyone?
Regards,
Paul
