Dear Odonata people!
On Internet I discovered a very interesting free possibility to share information about our dragonfly trips with each other on GPSed.com!
Now we can make tracks with GPS during our trips and attach photos to the tracks. The tracks will be displayed on Google Maps. We can put the descriptions of our photos and all visitors can send their comments. We can easily see what did all of us seen during their odonatological trips all over the world. For example I created my our test-track about my expedition on Dniestr river:
  http://gpsed.com/track/7890159070703536120
All of us can make our own tracks. We can make a special link on WDA website with all Odonata tracks, and select featured tracks, and designate winners! This will be interesting and impressive for all people. I attach more detailed information. Please send me your ideas and comments!

All the best,

How to make a track?

Here we'll give you some recommendations on how to make your own track
and to enjoy it on Internet by yourself and with friends. To make a
track you need GPS or mobile phone with GPSed application installed
(more information here gpsed.com/mobile) and a digital photo camera.
In a case you use photo camera separately from mobile please note that
the data and time should be the same on both devices to avoid future
mistakes. Choose the nice area and start making tracks and taking
photos during your trip. After that upload your track and photos on
your computer. Sign up your account on GPSed.com. In the upper right
corner of your screen press the link тАЬUpload tracksтАЭ and find your
recent track on your computer (GPX, KML or PLT formats). When the
process is finish your track will appear on Google Maps. You can
assign your tracks to Communities, click here
(  http://www.shapeservices.com/Newsletter/gpsed.html) for more information!

The track will be more informative if you illustrate it with photos.
Make your account at http://picasa.google.com/ or
  http://www.flickr.com/, create your web-album. Upload your photos
connected to this track into the web album. Please write photos
description when uploading them into Picasa or FlickR.

Add your photos to the track on gpsed.com/home by pressing "cameraт"
icon in a track list or on gpsed.com/track/<trackID> by pressing
"Attach photos" bottom in the upper right corner of your screen. The
track page gpsed.com/track/<trackID> is a main page, here you can edit
track description, add comments, etc.

When your track is displayed on the map you can include "track
description" below the map. Find "Track description" field and press
"Edit".

When the track became visible on Google Maps, contain photos,
waypoints and descriptions it is time to share it with friends. On the
track page in the upper part of "Track information" press "SHARE" and
send a link on it via e-mail, IM or by posting them to social
networks: Facebook, MySpaceт and Twitterт, etc.

Share your tracks with other GPSed users. The best tracks could be
displayed on our main page at http://GPSed.com. For more information
how to make your track Featured on GPSed please read the next text!

Have your own track Featured on GPSed!

Want to see your trip in a Featured Track List on GPSed.com service
and to become popular among GPSed users? Follow our simple rules and
your track may be displayed on our main page at http://GPSed.com.

1. The track should cover the nice area which will be interesting and
pleasant to see for other people. It should be illustrated with photos
(several dozens of photos or even more will be very useful);
2. Upload your track using your account on GPSed.com and make it "public";
3. Make your account at http://picasa.google.com/ or
  http://www.flickr.com/, create your web-album. Upload your photos
connected to this track into the web album. Please write "photos
description" when uploading them into Picasa or FlickR to make your
photos more informative;
4. Add your photos to the track. Pay attention that there are two main
pages of our service: the first is gpsed.com/home with a map and track
list and the second is the track page gpsed.com/track/<trackID>. You
can upload photos from the first page by pressing тАЬcameraтАЭ icon in a
track list or from the second page. The second page is a main page,
here you can edit track description, add comments, etc. Press "Attach
photos" bottom in the upper right corner of your screen on the second
(track) page. It is desirable to have photos position on the track;
5. When your track is displayed on the map you can include "track
description" below the map. Find "Track description" field and press
"Edit". Many people will be interested to learn more about the area,
what is it famous for? What was the reason of the trip and the most
exiting events during it?
6. The most interesting waypoints (with a description) will also make
the track more exciting for people.

Follow these recommendations carefully and you have a possibility to
share your impressions with a large audience of our users. The authors
of the best tracks will receive nice gifts from www.shapeservices.com,
etc. We hope to learn more about your trips from Featured Tracks at
GPSed.com! If you still don't have an account on GPSed.com you have a
chance to make it for free and start enjoying this service!

We hope you'll enjoy your adventures with GPSed!

  All the best,
GPSed Team
