Hello, all.
Does anyone out there have a specimen of a female Oplonaeschna armata
(Riffle Darner) with intact cerci (terminal appendages) that you
could photograph or scan and send me the image? All specimens and
photos of this species I have seen have had broken-off cerci, as
commonly happens in female aeshnids that oviposit in wood, and I have
not been able to find a description of the intact cerci. Perhaps you
would have to have an immature that hasn't oviposited (or even
mated?) yet. Also, I don't suppose anyone has an actual photo of one
in nature with intact cerci? There seem to be very few photos of this
species taken in nature. Thanks for checking.
