Jason,
I have an e-mail list of people interested in insects.
Would your study include Canada or other areas outside the mainland U.S.?
Does it also include damselflies?
Is there a more full description somewhere on-line?
You might like to send out your request to the NEOdes and gl-odonata 
listservs also.

[Odonata-l] volunteer job announcement




Position:
Volunteer Dragonfly Surveyor
 
Description:
Volunteers are invited to join a large-scale study to determine sampling 
requirements for adult dragonflies (Odonata). The information will help 
conservationists and researchers develop cost-effective survey designs. 
Participants select any pond, wetland, or lake near their home and conduct 
one-hour surveys once per week over the summer. Good adult dragonfly 
identification skills are required. For more information please contact
