Sorry, I should have thought of that, you are not the only one who
asked. I do not actually know the location, will have to ask the
photographer. I can say that his other odonate photos are of species
that suggest to me northern US or southern Canada, if I ID'd them
correctly: Aeshna tuberculifera, Leucorrhinia frigida, Sympetrum sp.
near internum, etc. Here's his Macro collection:

On the other hand, he contacted me because he is planning to visit
the LRGV, so he does at least some travelling...
