The work on S. nigrescens vs. S. striolatum also
included morphological work.

The genetic work doesn't say S. nigrescens isn't
different enough from S. striolatum for it to be a
separate species. The genetic work suggests that gene
flow is freely occurring between nigrescens and
striolatum.
