[Odonata-l] Do dragonflies see possess colour vision?

Sorry if this has been asked before..I did trawl through the archive but
didn't spot it.
I might just as well broaden that question to encompass more of the subject of
dragonfly vision. Does the 'resolution' of their vision vary, depending on the
part of the eye doing the looking?
I've observed that the fused compound eye of many dragonflies is not strictly
hemispherical - The curve described is shallowest at the front (above the
frons). Does it follow that this presents the clearest view for a dragonfly?
After all hawkers that I have seen hunting tend to go rocketing up in this
direction to catch prey too small/remote for me to see!
