Günther Theischinger and John Hawking have finished their monumental
field guide to the 324 Odonata species of Australia, and it was just
published by CSIRO. I have not seen a copy yet but am confident it
will be one of the great books on dragonflies. The continent of
Australia has an awesome odonate fauna, with many unique and
interesting groups and stunningly beautiful species. This book has
all species represented by color photos or scans and distribution
maps, with identification keys for adults and larvae. The illustrated
identification keys produced by Günther for the previous Australian
guide were the best I've ever used, and I assume these will be as
good or better. What more could you ask?

See the CSIRO website to learn more about it: http://
