Dear colleagues,
Collaborators and I have just started a study about distribution of Heliocharis amazona and Dicterias atrosanguinea in Brazil but we found few records. These species belong to an unusual and small family (Dicteriadidae) with two monotypic genera:
Heliocharis amazona that occurs in all South America but Chile and Uruguay and it is classified as priority species by IUCN Odonata Specialist Group.
Dicterias atrosanguinea is restricted to Amazon basin and belongs to 2006 IUCN Red List of Threatened Species due to lack of information on its distribution and/or population status.
Therefore, I am writing to ask if there is records of Heliocharis amazona and Dicterias atrosanguinea FROM BRAZIL in your personal collection or in a collection that you are responsible for, you could available it to me. At least we need to locate the records with the nearest city and the date.
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Patricia Ferreira-Peruquetti
