Mark, thanks for the information. There are some beautiful photos on
the site, and it's always a pleasure to look at good nature photos.
That Rhyothemis by jiaren777 - wow!

To me, there is often as much frustration as pleasure in looking at
nature-photography sites, as the photos are so often not named, and
if it's a plant or animal I don't know, knowing what it is would have
made the experience more satisfying. Furthermore, they're often
(usually?) not located, not even by continent. Am I the only one
frustrated by this? I don't suppose this custom will be easy to
change, but it would be so nice if all the many nature-photo sites
there are now would recommend to their users that a locality, even a
date, associated with each photo would be a wonderful asset. If they
don't know what they photographed, a lot of dragonfly people out
there are willing to try to identify photos, but a location would
make it so much easier. There are odonates from all over the world on
this site - what an educational resource if it could be tapped! I
realize some photographers don't need to know the names of their
subjects, but many of us viewing the photos would like to have that
option, which might be made available if the locality was known.

These comments aren't intended to denigrate your group, as most
nature sites are like this. A wonderful exception is BugGuide.Net,
where people post photos of North American terrestrial arthropods
either identified or needing identification, with localities and
dates. We need an international BugGuide now.
