[Odonata-l] Dragonflies with strongly developed ovipositors

I have been looking at a fossil from a Kansas Permian site that appears to
comprise the last 5 segments including part of an extended ovipositor of a
Protodonata. The specimen is in the Texas Memorial Museum.

I am interested in borrowing and working out the detailed morphology of the
ovipositors of extant Odonata that have well-developed ovipositors. I have
specimens of Cordulegaster bilineata and maculata females, but would
appreciate getting other species if anyone is willing to part with a
specimen or two. I noticed in TIllyard's Biology of the Dragonflies (p.
224) that the libellulid Uracis ovipositrix also has a well-devleoped
ovipositor, and would appreciate the loan of a specimen of that species as
well.

Finally, if there are other Anisoptera with similar ovipositors to those fo
these two genera, I would like to hear of them.

Thanks,

Roy
